Sea of Goodwill White Paper
Release of the Sea of Goodwill White Paper: Building the Bridge to Help Veterans & Their Families
Creating and sustaining a long-term solution for better transitional support of veterans and their families as they return to civilian life requires participation and support of organizations and government at both the national and local levels. Authored by Colonel David W. Sutherland, USA and Major John W. Copeland, USA, the Sea of Goodwill: Matching the Donor to the Need white paper seeks to foster this discussion.
The white paper focuses on three key elements in helping veterans and their families reintegrate into civilian society: education, access to health care for life, and employment. While these needs are simple, delivering the right service at the right time and place across more than 400,000 estimated service organizations is more complex.
Read the white paper. Share it with your friends. Tell us what you think.

Announcement: Warrior Gateway Launches Redesigned Portal
Warrior Gateway Launches Redesigned Services Portal to Provide Expanded Offerings to Military Community
New Web-Based Platform Connects U.S. Service Members and their Families to Assistance Providers and Employers, Facilitates Social Networking
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Warrior Gateway, a non-profit program that connects veterans and their families with the services and programs they seek as they re-integrate into their local communities, today announced the launch of its newly redesigned online community portal. The portal provides users with an intuitive, accessible interface that enables tailored searches of employers and service organizations as well as the ability to share content with one another via social media platforms.
Currently, the Warrior Gateway portal provides users with access to a registry of more than 30,000 potential service organizations that offer a range of familial, employment and educational assistance programs. Using the interface, service members and their families can apply several filters to narrow their search results, allowing them to identify the organizations that best meet their individual needs. The portal also enables military community members to rate service providers based on such criteria as effectiveness, timeliness and customer satisfaction, providing an open forum that drives meaningful dialogue among military community members.
“With tens and possibly hundreds of thousands of service organizations operating in the U.S., the challenge for veterans and their families isn’t a lack of goodwill– it’s finding the right provider for their need,” said Devin B. Holmes, Warrior Gateway Executive Director. “The guiding principle behind the online portal is to provide the military community with an open, unbiased source of information on the service organizations operating in their own backyard. Our site redesign does just that by offering users an easy-to-navigate interface that quickly provides them with the results they seek and the support they deserve, all within the community environment of a peer-to-peer network.”
Moving forward, the Warrior Gateway will partner with other national, regional, and local organizations to create a fully searchable, comprehensive nationwide database of service providers. In addition to connecting America’s veterans with critically needed support services, the Warrior Gateway’s network provides non-profit, private and government organizations with feedback from their customers, helping them to better understand the unique needs of their target audiences.

The Warrior Gateway gets a summer makeover
Heat waves. Crushing humidity. Warm beer.
Welcome to another DC summer. To prepare for all the joy the season can bring, we here at the Warrior Gateway have been slimming down and bulking up by launching a new, sleeker look and expanding our service provider directory to more than 30,000 organizations.
Our makeover includes an easier and more intuitive search function, a “Did You Know” feature that lists helpful resources, a collection of media and tutorial videos, and a streaming feed from our Facebook and Twitter channels. Look around and let us know what you think.
If you haven’t had the chance, register as a member, tell your friends and family about us, and give us feedback on how we can continue to improve our site. From myself and the entire Warrior Gateway team, have a fantastic July 4th weekend.
